I am currently working on my Master’s thesis at Utah State University on the topic of the Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah. I am trying to locate individuals that attended this school that would be willing to share any of their experiences and knowledge about this school with me.
I am specifically comparing IIS to other boarding schools such as Carlisle and Haskell and am finding that IIS was certainly a better model than those previously mentioned as it seemed to embrace and celebrate the Native American culture rather than trying to change it.
If you could share any of your feelings with me on the success of the school and how you feel about its closure etc., I would be most grateful.
